Registration for VPBank Hanoi Marathon 2021 Pro League to Start June 20

 

The marathon's Race Organizing Committee (ROC) will take applications for the 42-km and the 21-km distances.

Runners who meet the criteria listed below should register immediately with the ROC by filling in a form at the following link, and email confirmation of personal records to hanoi.marathon@dhavietnam.vn before July 15, 2021 so the ROC could verify, approve and announce the list of successful applicants on the marathon's website (expected in 10 working days from the end of the registration deadline).

The VPBank Hanoi Marathon has affirmed its level of a leading professional marathon in Vietnam, representing the convergence of the bright stars from the national team, teams on provincial, city and sectoral levels, gathering elite runners, both Vietnamese and foreigners. The VPBank Hanoi Marathon 2021 is proud to be the only remaining race to date that could give runners the opportunity to own one of the 200 historic tickets for the journey to the top of glory on the 31st SEA Games running track.

For runners, running is not only health and happiness through every step, but also passion and desire to conquer one's own limitations. Each medal is measured by sweat, efforts and perseverance in training and it always deserves the pride of all runners. Running along with national team's stars, who are considered the "gods of the wind", will be an extremely special experience, a challenge which any real runner should face.

The ROC has decided to extend the following attractive benefits to participating runners in order to encourage their registration for the race.

 

BENEFITS FOR RUNNERS COMPETING AT THE PROFESSIONAL LEAGUE

Runners who voluntarily register to compete in the Professional League will enjoy the following benefits:

1. Benefits when registering to compete for the 2021 Professional League:

- Free Bib for the 2021 race

- One night stay in the hotel system provided by the ROC (2 people/room, breakfast included)

- Sponsor's gifts at the sponsor's conditions

- Bib meeting the Elite runner's standards

- Priority at the Start line

2. Prize structure:

- For the 42-km distance: 5 prizes, namely 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th for Men and Women

- For the 21-km distance: 5 prizes, namely 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th for Men and Women

3. Benefits for 2021 winners when participating in the 2022 race:

a. Honor (by name and achievement) on the board of ​​“Vietnam Marathon Gold Leaderboard” from the start to the end of the VPBank Hanoi Marathon 2022 season.

b. VPBank Hanoi Marathon 2022 Bib award with the distance, at which the runner has won in 2021. The Bib cannot be presented, donated or transferred, but the owner has the right to change the distance. Runners won't have to pay any fee when changing for a shorter distance. For a longer distance, the runner needs to pay the fee resulting from the distance difference at the time of the distance change request. If runners do not participate in the 2022 race, they will lose the right to the Bib gift and that will not be reserved for the subsequent years.

 

QUALIFICATIONS FOR PROFESSIONAL LEAGUE REGISTRATION

1. Runners:

a. Vietnamese professional runners who are:

i. Members of the national athletics team in 2019, 2020 and 2021.

ii. Those who joined the marathon and long-distance championship race of the Tien Phong newspaper in 2019, 2020 and 2021, registered under the provincial, city and sectoral teams.

b. Non-professional runners who register to compete in the Professional League are:

i. Male or female runners of Vietnamese or foreign nationality, competing in the distance of 42 km or 21 km, observing the VPBank Hanoi Marathon terms and conditions and the registration conditions below, voluntarily registering to compete under the Professional League.

2. Conditions for professional and non-professional runners to register for the Professional League

- They must meet the following minimum standards:

* For 42 km:

- Man's achievement: 03:08:00

- Woman's achievement: 03:50:00

* For 21 km:

- Man's achievement: 1:24:00

- Woman's achievement: 1:45:00

- For professional runners: the standard results are to be considered by the Vietnam Athletics Federation by looking at the achievements in the tournament systems organized by the federation in 2018, 2019 and 2020.

- For non-professional runners: the standard results are to be considered at the tournaments in the schedule announced by the Vietnam Athletics Federation, or organized under the federation's supervision in 2019, 2020 and 2021, including: VPBank Hanoi Marathon, Halong Bay Heritage Marathon, Tien Phong Marathon, HCMC Marathon, Techcombank Ho Chi Minh Marathon.

- Register in advance according to the schedule announced by the ROC (mandatory).

- Registration is verified and approved by the ROC, published on the marathon's website after the registration deadline.

3. Rules for prize consideration:

- Professional runners can only compete under the Professional League

- Non-professional runners who have voluntarily registered to compete in the Professional League will not be able to compete in the Non-professional League.

 

Held annually since 2018, the VPBank Hanoi Marathon has become Hanoi’s official marathon and won recognition to be a member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) since 2019, with a running track standardized by AIMS experts and the Vietnam Athletics Federation. Runners’ results, in addition to be qualified for competing in the 31st SEA Games, are still recognized to qualify for the prestigious Boston Marathon. The VPBank Hanoi Marathon has joined the Age Group Ranking System of ABBOTT WORLD MARATHON MAJORS, counting from 2022.
