ANNOUNCEMENT: VPBank Hanoi Marathon Extends Grand Marshal Hire to Nov 30

The Race Organizing Committee (ROC) of the VPBank Hanoi Marathon, Vietnam's leading professional marathon, has decided to extend the deadline for applications to become the volunteer team managers, or grand marshal, to November 30, 2021 so it get the best team together to successfully organize the competition late next month.

The extension from the initial deadline of November 24 has been made to solve problems expressed by many candidates who eagerly join the Crew.

Besides, the ROC has adjusted the procedures to give volunteers the most favorable conditions.

1. Training is scheduled for 3 online sessions. Some positions will participate in an offline session to get clear picture of the running track.

2. Training time is arranged flexibly, with many options for grand marshals.

The training schedule is arranged on Thursday night or Saturday/Sunday night, allowing volunteers to fully participate.

3. Volunteers who have the 2021 Bib will have it shifted to the 2022 race after Crew Night.

 

Having listened to, and assisting the crew team, the ROC really looks forward to a companion with enthusiastic friends, and commits to making a successful, memorable and fun marathon in 2021.

When joining the crew, grand marshals will also have a many benefits, promising "unbelievable fun" and extremely meaningful memory: Crew medals, Crew certificates, allowances, Crew Night's Guest of Honor and fully equipped to perform their task.

Welcome to the crew of the VPBank Hanoi Marathon 2021, the final race to select Top 200 non-professional runners to accompany the 31st SEA Games.

Held annually since 2018, the VPBank Hanoi Marathon has become Hanoi’s official race and won recognition to be a member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) since 2019, with a running track standardized by AIMS experts and the Vietnam Athletics Federation. Runners’ results, in addition to be qualified for competing in the 31st SEA Games, are still recognized to qualify for the prestigious Boston Marathon. The VPBank Hanoi Marathon has joined the Age Group Ranking System of Abbott World Marathon Majors, counting from 2022.
