Some runners having competed at the VPBank Hanoi Marathon 2022, if qualified, may be invited to join a marathon in Chicago (USA) in October 2023.

Based on the results at the VPBank Hanoi Marathon 2022, which has joined Abbott World Marathon Majors’ Age Group Ranking System, 24 runners have made very high scores in the world ranking system of Abbott World Marathon Majors Wanda Age Group.

Please note that if these runners further score well at an Abbott system event in 2022, you may receive an invitation to the World Age Championships, part of Bank of America Chicago Marathon 2023, which is scheduled to take place on October 8, 2023 in the United States.

In order to be eligible for an invitation to the World Championship, you MUST create a profile at www.Abbottwmm.com and claim your rating there.

The Heritage Race system, which joined Abbott in 2022, has the Halong Bay Heritage Marathon that is due to take place on November 13. Runners can use their results at the race to compete and qualify for the Chicago marathon in 2023.

A super incentive offered by the VPBank Hanoi Marathon, with discount of up to 70 percent to the Early Bird rate, is still valid through November 15, 2022.

Held annually since 2018, the VPBank Hanoi Marathon has become Hanoi’s official race and won recognition to be a member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) since 2019, with a running track standardized by AIMS experts and the Vietnam Athletics Federation. The VPBank Hanoi Marathon has joined the Age Group Ranking System of Abbott World Marathon Majors. VPBank Hanoi Marathon results can be used to qualify at any of the World Six Majors, including the prestigious Boston Marathon.
