The Hanoi Marathon - Heritage Race 2023/ Organizing Committee will deliver gifts to the Vietnam Blind Running Club to support runners who overcome their fate.

This year Hanoi’s official marathon marked the appearance of a special group of runners including 33 members of the Vietnam Visually Impaired Running Lover Club.

Accompanying these special runners, on the night of October 15, 2023, the organizers will give money to enhance their heartfell running steps.

Established in 2020 and affiliated with the Vietnam Blind Association, the club currently has 35 members, including 25 visually impaired people (15 men, 10 women) and 10 non-disabled members (7 men, 3 women).

Most of the club members are young and dynamic people aged between 18 and 40, actively participating in club activities.

With the core of athletics runners from the Hanoi Sports Center for the Disabled People and visually impaired young people who are passionate about sports in general and running in particular, the club was established on July 26, 2020. The chairman is Mr. Vu Tien Manh, an athletic runner of the Center.

The club operates on a spirit of volunteerism and commitment to member participation. Funding comes from members' contributions and partial support from the Vietnam Blind Association.

During the 3 years of operation, the club has encouraged visually impaired people to participate in sports through jogging to enhance physical health and improve the capacity of visually impaired people.

The club wishes to actively contribute to the process of integrating people with disabilities in the field of sports and physical education so that no one is left behind.

Held annually since 2018, the Hanoi Marathon – Heritage Race has become Hanoi’s official race and won recognition to be a member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) since 2019, with a running track standardized by AIMS experts and the Vietnam Athletics Federation. The marathon has joined the Age Group Ranking System of Abbott World Marathon Majors. Hanoi Marathon – Heritage Race results can be used to qualify at any of the World Six Majors, including the prestigious Boston Marathon.
