The Standard Chartered Hanoi Marathon Heritage Race 2024 is a professional marathon in Vietnam, where the top talents from the national team, provincial and city teams, as well as other countries are gathered.

This season, the Standard Chartered Hanoi Marathon Heritage Race 2024’s Full Marathon event is divided into 2 categories: The Elite category and the Age Group category. Of which, the Elite category is expected to award the top 10 male athletes and the top 10 female athletes. The Age Group category is expected to announce the awards for male and female athletes at a later time.

Athletes competing in the Elite category are professional athletes, and amateur runners who meet the standards issued by the organisers. By joining the Elite category, runners can compete with athletes from the national team and top runners in the region and the world. This is an unforgettable experience for each athlete.

Competing in the Elite category not only proves one’s passion, desire to win, and overcoming oneself, it also is a challenge worth tackling for everybody.

Elite category athletes are also eligible to receive other benefits from the organisers.

BENEFITS FOR ELITE ATHLETES

Elite tier athletes are also entitled to receive prizes based on its own distinct structure, where the top 10 athletes for each Male and Female gender are awarded.

• • BIB numbered according to the Elite tier (- bib number begins with the letter E)
• • Elite tournament T-shirt designed and by XTEP
• • Receive bibs exclusive for Elite tier
• • Access to VIP area when receiving bib and post-race recovery
• • Private tent for storage and preparation prior to starting
• • Prioritized start before the Age Group category
• • Private water table for Elite tier
• • Gifts based on terms and conditions from the sponsors

CONDITIONS TO COMPETE IN THE ELITE CATEGORY

1. Professional Vietnamese athletes as listed by the Vietnam Athletics Federation, which includes:

• •    Athletes in the National Marathon Selection Team 2024
• •    Athletes who have participated in the National championship, provincial selection team, or from other industry federations in 2023 and 2024

2. Amateur athletes registering for the Elite category must meet regulations and standards set by the Standard Chartered Hanoi Marathon Heritage Race 2024

Amateur athletes, regardless of gender or nationality, are eligible to register for Elite tier of the Standard Chartered Hanoi Marathon Heritage Race 2024 if they meet the following conditions:

• • Male: Complete a Full Marathon in under 3 hours or a Half Marathon in under 1 hour and 25 minutes
• • Female: Complete a Full Marathon in under 3 hours and 30 minutes or a Half Marathon in under 1 hour and 40 minutes

The tournament uses records (Full or Half Marathon) from marathons that took place in Vietnam or from overseas within January 1st, 2022 until August 31st, 2024 - as the norm for meeting the following criteria:

• • The marathon is AIMS certified for 2022, 2023, 2024; or
• • The marathon is organised under supervision from the Vietnam Athletics Federation in the years 2022, 2023, 2024; or
• • If it was the National Marathon Championship and Tien Phong Newspaper’s Full Marathon for the year 2022, 2023, 2024.

Please also send your certified personal record to the email: hanoi.marathon@dhavietnam.vn before 31/08/2024 for verification and approval from the organisers before the final list of eligible Elite athletes are announced on the tournament’s website. The decision for athletes partaking in the Elite category as published on the Website is final.

PRIZING REGULATION

• - Professional athletes listed by the Vietnam Athletics Federation can only compete in the Elite category
• - Amateur athletes who voluntarily registered for the Elite category may not compete in the Age Group category. Those who have already registered for Elite may not be moved to the Age Group category
• - Athletes in the Age Group category may only receive prizes based on their age groups, there are no other prizes.
